Berries Aflame!

I am so excited to be submitting this painting to the Grace Chapel Gallery's “Bon Appétit!” Exhibit. This exhibit will be displayed from January 23 – March 10, 2010. The opening night will feature a Jazz Café reception event on Saturday, Jan 23, 4-6pm. Musicians include Dave Limina on keyboard, Rob Hewett on the bass, and Zac Casher on the drums.

Exploding Berries

Winterberries continue to explode both inside and outside of my studio. This is the second piece in the Winterberry series.

For the entire month of December I have been fascinated with a winterberry bush not far from my studio. I adore the red berries and reaching branches. I am fascinated with their vibrant color and paint and draw them obsessively.

The turkeys also love them so I am racing to finish this series before the big birds do.
